BeenVerified is a people-search and background-information service that combines information from public records and other data sources into searchable reports. A profile can connect your name with addresses, phone numbers, relatives and other identifying information.

The opt-out removes your profile from BeenVerified’s public-facing search system. It does not erase the underlying public records or automatically remove the same information from unrelated data brokers.

What a BeenVerified profile can show

Depending on the records available, a BeenVerified result may include:

  • Full name and possible aliases
  • Current and previous addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Age or date-related information
  • Relatives and associated people
  • Public-record and other background information

Where BeenVerified gets this information

BeenVerified aggregates information from public and commercially available sources. That can include public records and other databases used to build people-search profiles. This is why a record can exist even when you have never created a BeenVerified account.

How to remove yourself from BeenVerified

1Open the BeenVerified opt-out search

Go to beenverified.com/app/optout/search. You can also reach the process through BeenVerified’s privacy or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” links.

2Search for your record

Enter your name and location to find the records BeenVerified has associated with you. Review the results carefully. If you see more than one record that belongs to you, plan to process each matching record separately.

3Select your matching record

Choose the record that actually belongs to you and select the Proceed to Opt Out option associated with it. Do not remove someone else’s record simply because the name is similar.

4Enter an email address

BeenVerified sends a verification email to confirm the request. Use an inbox you can access. The verification link is time-limited, so complete the next step promptly.

5Verify the opt-out request

Open the email from BeenVerified and use its verification button or link. You should be redirected to a confirmation page indicating that the opt-out request was received.

6Wait for processing

BeenVerified says most opt-out requests are processed within about 48 hours. If you found multiple records, repeat the same process for each one rather than assuming one request covers every profile.

Removal is one half of the job. Check whether your email has leaked as well.

How to confirm it worked

After the processing window, search BeenVerified again using the same name and location. Check the specific record you removed. If it is no longer publicly searchable, the opt-out has taken effect. Search engines can continue showing old snippets temporarily even after the source has removed the record.

Keep checking. Data brokers can create a new profile when they receive updated information or match you to a new source. If a new BeenVerified record appears later, submit a fresh opt-out request for that record.

BeenVerified’s network is broader than one page

BeenVerified operates a network of people-search services and related products. Removing a BeenVerified profile does not mean your information has disappeared from the wider people-search ecosystem. Treat this as one removal in a larger cleanup.

Does removing BeenVerified remove me from other sites too?

No. The request controls your BeenVerified exposure. It does not automatically erase matching information held by unrelated people-search sites, data brokers, public records or search engines.

BeenVerified opt-out FAQ

Is BeenVerified removal free?

Yes. The public opt-out process is available without buying a BeenVerified membership.

Do I need a BeenVerified account?

No. The opt-out process is separate from a paid membership or account.

How long does BeenVerified removal take?

BeenVerified says most opt-out requests are processed within 48 hours after verification.

What if there is more than one profile for me?

Process each matching record separately. Different records can represent different addresses or data combinations.
